Port Maubert is a tranquil alternative to the busy port of Mortagne. At the far end of Rue des Pechures is what locals call ‘The Cabin’ or ‘Chez Bruno’. This little establishment is only open during the summer months when the proprietor returns to the area from Paris. Choose from a selection of savoury or sweet crepes or one of his main plates of lamb chops, entrecote, magret du canard and when in season moules et frites. There are a couple of tables under the canopy of the hut’s awning or sit under the trees next to the water. A lovely relaxed setting but don’t forget your mosquito spray.
